The Lakeway Area Chapter
of the American Red Cross needs volunteers of all ages
and from all backgrounds. Below are just a few of the many
opportunities available. Give us a call at 423-586-2442 or
423-623-6133 to learn more.
Disaster Action Team
DAT Members provide emergency relief to families and
emergency workers during local or national disasters. They assist at
disaster sites or mass care shelters, providing shelter and food.
Volunteers should enjoy working with and helping people in crisis
from varied economic and ethnic backgrounds.
Instructors
Volunteer instructors teach lifesaving safety and
emergency response skills to individuals in a community setting.
Youth
Become a youth volunteer (age 14-18), join the Red
Cross club at your school, or ask about the Youth Board. Youth are
needed to help develop and implement Red Cross events and community
activities.
Service in the Community
The Red Cross partners with area agencies such as
ALPS and the LifeCare center to offer volunteer opportunities where
you can make a difference.
Special Events and Information Booth
Volunteers
Throughout the year, the Red Cross uses special event
volunteers to help with various activities. Whether it’s helping
with fundraising initiatives such as the Heroes Campaign, community
events like Boofest, or health fairs and information booths, Red
Cross Volunteers are out in their communities, making a difference!
